LBSCR A1X 'Terrer' 55 Stepney
Stroudley's famous Terriers survived for decades after more modern designs had been scrapped, working on lightly laid Branch lines. Here these diminutive engines were often the only engines light enough to cross some particular bridges. In later years "Stepney" was particularly associated with the Hayling Island branch, until sold to the Bluebell Railway in May 1960. The engine is on long term loan to the railway.

GWR Pannier 8771
The locomotive was purchased by the chairman from a Somerset based group who could no longer find the time to work on it. 8771 arrived to the line in 1976 and was initially put into store whilst a plan could be put together for it's restoration. In 1985, the engine was moved into the workshops for a thorough strip down, which commenced it's overhaul. The engine's overhaul was completed in 1995, and in 2004, was withdrawn for work to be done to it's pannier tanks. It was decided to retube the engine and reline it's cylinders and the engine returned to service again in early 2006.
